Portfolios
Building a portfolio with us
Three ways to hold a portfolio sit side by side, and each suits a different kind of saver. Day to day you check the dashboard, add money when you can, and leave the rest alone.
Kinds of portfolio
-
Ready mix
For savers who want it handled
A diversified mix is chosen, bought and rebalanced for you. You pick the risk level and we keep the weights in line.
- Rebalanced for you
- One risk level
- Plain fund names
-
Your own mix
For savers with firm views
You choose the holdings and set the weights. A short check flags a mix that leans too far one way before you commit.
- You choose holdings
- Weights are yours
- Risk check included
-
Transferred pot
For savers with an existing portfolio
Bring a portfolio from elsewhere and hold it alongside the rest. We ask the provider to confirm the details in writing first.
- Existing holdings kept
- One combined view
- Paperwork confirmed first
Day to day
-
Adding money
Top up from the dashboard whenever it suits, and the mix is adjusted around the new money.
-
Checking a fee
Every charge is listed by name and date, so nothing arrives as a surprise on the statement.
-
Switching a holding
Change what you hold, read the note on what it means for the mix, then confirm.
-
Taking money out
Sell part of the portfolio and send the proceeds to your bank account, with the terms shown first.
What you need to start
An email address, a phone and proof of identity are enough to begin. Money comes from a bank account in your own name. Fees, the terms and anything the provider needs are set out in the agreement before you pay anything in.
Good portfolios start with a question
Tell us what you are saving for, how you would like to invest and where you are up to. A person replies by email. Nothing is opened, signed or charged through the form.
